Is the Nutriberry Slim free trial a scam?
NutriBerry Slim is billed as a product which will help you to “lose weight automatically, without having to think about it”. It is claimed that it will suppress appetite, burn fat, and make you feel better, without making changes to diet and lifestyle.
What’s more, the manufacturers are offering customers a “risk-free trial bottle”, which suggests they can try the product for free, and purchase further supplies only if the trial proves effective. Sounds too good to be true? It probably is.
What are the ingredients of NutriBerry Slim and are they effective?
NutriBerry Slim contains three active ingredients, each of which has some scientific support for its weight-loss properties.
Raspberry ketone is the enzyme within raspberries that produces the beautiful aroma. Raspberry ketone extract became hugely popular as an ingredient for diet products following its endorsement by American TV personality, Dr Oz on his show.
It is claimed to be effective in regulating the metabolism and breaking down fat. Scientific tests have lent some support to these claims where raspberry ketone is consumed in large quantities (see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20425690) and suggest that 100mg of raspberry ketone extract will produce the same effect as 90lb of raspberries.
NutriBerry Slim contains 100mg raspberry ketone, which accords with the recommended daily dosage.
Green Coffee Extract
Green coffee extract comes from coffee beans which have not been roasted. Apparently the roasting process destroys much of the chlorogenic acid within coffee beans, and chlorogenic acid is effective both in burning fat and increasing the metabolism.
The amount of green coffee extract in NutriBerry Slim is 200mg per two tablets, which is significantly lower than the dosage recommended by scientists. In a clinical study conducted by Dr Joe Vinson at the University of Scranton, participants were shown to lose weight on dosages of either 700mg or 1050mg each day. It is unlikely that the daily dose of 200mg in NutriBerry will have any significant effect on weight loss.
Acai Berry Extract
Acai berry has been scientifically proven to be a healthy food which contains antioxidants which may be beneficial is protecting the body from heart disease and even cancer. However, there is no scientific evidence to show that this ingredient has any effect upon weight loss.
Overall, this combination of active ingredients, in these quantities, may be of limited assistance in losing weight, but those who believe the advertising hype – that weight will be lost by taking this product without changes to diet and lifestyle – will be disappointed.
Whilst each of the ingredients is widely used in other diet products, the amount of green coffee in NutriBerry Slim is too low, and there is nothing in this product capable of suppressing the appetite. The ingredients are safe in the quantities supplied here, though people who have a caffeine intolerance could experience symptoms such as insomnia and anxiety.
What are customers saying about NutriBerry Slim?
The only customer feedback on the effectiveness of this product take the form of testimonials on the manufacturer’s website and lack credibility.
There is significant negative feedback on other websites relating to the company’s marketing strategy, which offers a tempting risk-free trial.
Customers report that once the trial pack offer is accepted, they are signed up for the notorious auto-ship programme which is extremely difficult to cancel.
- Two of the active ingredients in NutriBerry Slim – raspberry ketone and green coffee – are scientifically proven to be effective weight-loss tools.
- The level of green coffee extract is significantly below the dosage recommended by scientists.
- The “risk-free trial” offered by the manufacturer is merely a method of tying in new customers to the very expensive and notoriously unfair auto-ship programme.
- The product is over-priced compared to its competitors.
Is NutriBerry Slim worth buying?
Very hard to recommend. Anyone who accepts the manufacturer’s “risk-free” offer will automatically be committing to a monthly expenditure of over $166.
There are better products available which cost less, and which don’t require you to sign up to an auto-ship programme.
☆ Recommended alternatives – Ketone Balance Duo ☆
Our advice is to opt for either a good quality raspberry ketone or green coffee product. There are plenty available cheaply, just ensure they contain a good amount of extract (200mg min) and avoid any company offering them as a free trial.
Our top choice is Ketone Balance Duo which contains both ingredients in a combined formula for much less cost than buying each separately. We recently reviewed this product –
